Owen would like to congratulate his great-grandparents, Annie and Da, on 60 years of marriage. They are an example to us all. We love you, Annie and Da!
I cannot believe it, but our precious Owen has been with us for a month now! We had sort of a tough day due to Owen's reflux, but we still managed to get a couple of pictures of a content baby!
Here is Owen thinking about everything that has happened in the past month:
Our wonderful friend Denise just happens to be a phenomenal photographer. Her gift to us at Owen's baby shower was a newborn photo session. The session was on October 4, and the pictures are incredible. Visit Denise's blog at the link below to look at Owen's pictures and Denise's other work. Thanks, Denise...we love you! Owen sends kisses!
For those of you who don't know, Owen's due date was October 17th. It is hard to believe we have already had him for 4 weeks. He will be a month old tomorrow. Here is a glimpse of what Owen looked like on his due date. By the way, we went to the doctor today for a shot, and Owen weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz. What a big boy he is getting to be!
Here is a glimpse of what our daily life is like right now:
Owen LOVES his activity gym. He is not big enough to play with the toys yet, but he loves to listen to the music, watch the lights, and see his reflection in the mirror.
Well, Owen doesn't love taking baths...he obviously does not take after his daddy, king of the 30 minute shower. We have lots of crying, lots of peepee, and one really cute baby. Take a look...
Owen's first sponge bath:
Owen's first bath in his handy-dandy rainforest bathtub:
Gigi, my mom, was able to stay with us for a week after Owen was born. She was a huge help, and it was great to spend such an extended period of time with her. I missed her when I was on bedrest! It was hard when it came time for her to leave, but we had a fun little photo session first. In addition to Owen and Gigi, you also get to see Owen's room. The blue feather wreath was on my door at the hospital. Thanksfor making it, Gigi!
On the first Sunday night at home, Owen decided to wake up for a few minutes. Gigi and I caught the entire episode on camera. Here are a few pictures of my sweet boy...
Owen and I were discharged from the hospital about 8:30 on Saturday night. We came home, ate, and went to bed...Although it was dark when we got home, the next morning, we were able to see the pretty blue bow my mom had tied on the mailbox to let everyone know that Owen was here.
