Christmas is here!

Owen's first Christmas was a smashing success.  We spent Christmas Eve at GiGi's house.  Even Brittney and Tyler spent the night, too.  We woke up on Christmas morning, Annie and Da came over, and then we opened presents.  There were so many presents; it was ridiculous!  Then we had a delicious lunch.

After lunch, we headed over to Bill and Lisa's house to celebrate Christmas with Andy's side of the family.  We ate again, and then opened presents there.  Unfortunately, I forgot the camera so we have no pictures of Christmas night.  However, I have a ton from Christmas morning.  Enjoy!

Christmas Eve

The Carroll's always spend Christmas Eve and MacMommy and Granddaddy's house.  It is not quite as big a party as the day after Thanksgiving, but it is always fun!  As always, Owen was looking quite handsome as we celebrated Christmas with Pappy's side of the family!

First we eat, and we ate good this year!  My favorite was the frozen green salad.  Then we open presents.  The adults draw names, but the children get presents from everyone!  I drew Granddaddy's name and gave him a shirt.  Andy had Sharon's name and gave her a gift card to Michael's for scrapbooking supplies.  Alan had Andy's name and gave him a weather alert radio.  Sharon had my name, and she gave me a sandwich press.  Owen got an activity walker and a laugh and learn cookie jar that teaches shapes and colors.  We also got gift cards to go out to eat, a gift card to Home Depot, and my favorite Carroll tradition, a precious moments ornament for our tree.

Mt favorite part this year was Granddaddy playing Santa.  He always sits on a stool and passes out presents.  As he is getting older, it is harder for him to get up and down from the stool.  One time, he was trying to stand up and he had a hard time, so he pulled himself up with an invisible rope.  It was hysterical.  I wish I had gotten a picture.  We love our Granddaddy!

Enjoy some pictures of this fun night!

Owen is three months old!

I know I am a little bit behind the times, but I wanted to post a picture from December 18.  This was the day Owen turned 3 months old.  It has without a doubt been the fastest three months of my life.  It has been wonderful to have this precious angel as a part of our lives!

Sorry it took so long to get this posted, but with traveling for Christmas and all three of us getting a stomach virus, there was not much time for blogging!

Owen "talking"

Our baby is getting so big!  It is hard to believe that he turned 3 months old on December 18  (a three month picture will be coming soon!).  Owen is "talking" now.  He will coo, giggle, and wiggle all around.  On Saturday, December 20, Andy and I took an opportunity to shoot some video of our little chatterbox.  It is a little long, but he was so sweet, we couldn't turn the camera off!

Owen in Character

Owen's friend Grey Gobble turned 4 years old on November 30.  Grey had a Batman birthday party.  Grey was all dressed up, and Owen didn't want to miss out on the fun!

We thought after being a monster, a little turkey, and batman, that Owen was finished dressing up for 2008.  Well, we were wrong.  At our Eagles Christmas party, Owen decided he needed to be an elf.  He bent his ear over and everything!

Christmas Time!

I love this time of year...I just can't believe it is here again!  This year  has gone by so fast.  It is hard to believe that last Christmas, I was not even pregnant and now Owen is here and almost 3 months old!  Here are some pictures of Christmas time at the Sneed house...

Picture with Santa

We went to get Owen's picture made with Santa Claus today.  Actually, we went twice!  We went for the first time on Andy's lunch break.  Owen was bright-eyed and bushy tailed all morning.  He was wide awake while we waited for our turn with Santa.  We set him in Santa's lap, and he was zonked out.  There was no waking him up!  We took him and tried to get him to open his eyes, but nothing worked until we got him back in the car.  I guess maybe the cool air woke him up.  So, we turned around and went back in to find that Santa had gone to lunch.  So we tried again after Andy got home from work.  Much better luck this time!

Owen's First Thanksgiving

It is so hard to believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone already!  We had an eventful long weekend...On Thursday, we started the day at Nana's for Thanksgiving lunch.  Then we drove to Murfreesboro to have Thanksgiving dinner at Annie and Da's house.  Friday was the annual Carroll Thanksgiving celebration at the Lion's Club building in Cannonsburgh.  Of course, Friday was also the day of Turkey Bowl...I think this was the third year, but I may be wrong.  On Saturday, we snuck in some Christmas shopping, and on Sunday it was time to come home.  Lot's of fun things happened this year...

* Amber held Owen for the first time

* Lisa (Duarte) couldn't keep her eyes open

* Owen celebrated his First Thanksgiving with his new cousin, Jones

* Donald fractured his finger playing football

* We saw Twilight (it was AWESOME!)

* Granddaddy became a superhero

* The sweet potatoes boiled over at Annie and Da's starting a small fire in the oven

* Fun was had by all!

Smiles!

Owen has been smiling purposefully for about a week now.  The smiles are still pretty infrequent, but he is starting to figure out what he is doing.  When Andy came home from work today, I was showing him how Owen can sit in his Bumbo chair.  We had the camera out and happened to catch a couple of smiles!

Owen is getting so big!

Everyone tells you that your children grow up fast, but it is amazing to actually watch it happen.  Sometimes it seems like I put Owen to sleep and he wakes up a bigger boy with more abilities!  He is holding his head up now (at least for short periods of time). Yesterday, I set him in his bouncer for a little while.  He was so cute that I had to take some pictures.  The pictures were so cute that I had to share them.  We didn't stay in the bouncer for long, but we are working our way up to loving a new toy!

We also decided yesterday that Owen was big enough to graduate out of the sling on his baby bathtub. He looked like such a big boy waiting for his bath!

Happy Birthday to Emily!

I do not know how in the world I am 25 years old, but I guess I am!  It seems like yesterday that I was putting on shows with Brittney in Annie and Da's yard, but now I am a college graduate, I'm married, and I have a 2 month old son!  It has been a great 25 years, and here's hoping that the next 25 are even better!

I just realized that Owen will be 25 years old when my next 25 years are up...that's SCARY!!!

Thanks everyone for making my birthday so special!  All of my family worked together to get me an awesome Ipod.  Thanks, Dad, Annie, Da, Ann, Brittney, and Tyler!  Owen gave me a docking station for the house, and Andy installed a port in the van so that I can listen to my Ipod with CD quality and not have to deal with an FM modulator...too bad we didn't know that our stereo had anti-theft protection and we had to buy a code to make it work again!

My sweet mother gave me a beautiful locket with a picture of Owen inside and a neat gadget that wirelessly uploads my pictures from my digital camera to my computer.

My wonderful husband also built me an awesome computer that runs Mac so that I can do neat things with my pictures, Ipod, and blog.

I love you all!
